The village of Clifton Upon Teme has two public houses and a small grocery/post office, all within a short walk of The Byre.  Both the Lion and the New Inn serve good food and ales.

There are many scenic walks in the surrounding countryside that encompass picturesque river valleys through to hilltop views across several counties.  The location is ideal for road trips to various places including the Teme Valley, Malvern Hills, Wales, Whitley Court and the City of Worcester.

The Byre is also within walking distance of the Shelsley Hill Climb track which hosts events through most of the Spring and Summer.
